Company History
Aeronautical Software Developments (ASD) was founded in 1996 to provide solutions
to Procedure Designers of ICAO PANS-OPS and FAA TERPS criteria. The first product
was PDToolKit, a software toolkit for ICAO PANS-OPS designers on the Bentley MicroStation
CAD platform.
In early 2000, a new version of PDToolKit was released which was developed on the
Microsoft ActiveX technology which allowed different CAD systems to be used as the
graphical engine; so PDToolKit was made available on the Autodesk AutoCAD as well
as the established Bentley MicroStation platform.
Using the CAD products gave PDToolKit the benefit of high performance graphics display
and an established industry documents that are accepted worldwide; these being DWG
and DGN.
An aviation calculator was added to PDToolKit in early 2002 to assist customers
with their designs, this tool is Windows based and can be used outside of the CAD
engine. In 2008, this tool is being completely re-designed giving a new interface
and developed using the latest technology from Microsoft; .NET.
2007 has seen more momentum developing in the Microsoft .NET Framework and benefits
of this will be seen in 2008 with new products and updates to PDToolKit.
ASD is committed to providing quality tools for procedure designers, in 2008 more
products was added to grow the solutions offered. Today, ASD is an established company
in the aeronautical market place with solutions being used all over the world.
